We get a lot of questions about insurance. Here are answers to several of the most common ones.

Vision Insurance:

Vision insurance is meant to reduce your cost of yearly eye exams, contact lens exams, and the purchase of glasses or contact lenses. Vision insurance is designed to defray the cost of your regular yearly eye care costs. Every insurance plan is different, and we are happy to assist you in understanding exactly what your vision insurance plan covers.

Health Insurance:

Health Insurance is designed to provide a safety net from large expenses in the case of a sudden medical need. With eye care this could include common medical eye issues such as dry eyes, eye allergies, eye infections. As well as serious eye diseases such as cataracts, glaucoma, and diabetic retinopathy.

A provision of Obama Care is that all health insurances must provide vision insurance for people 18 and under. This would include coverage for an eye exam and certain benefits towards eyeglasses or contact lenses.

Insurance Is Confusing:

Navigating insurance coverage can be very frustrating. At Coleman Vision in Joplin, MO we are here to help with any questions. Our staff are skilled at quickly clarifying what your insurance does and does not cover, what co-pays are required, and much more.
