Many of these children had diagnoses of A.D.D., A.D.H.D., chronic post traumatic stress disorder, learning disabilities and low I.Q. Alison grew up knowing she had learning problems due to her vision. At the time, her parents were told there wasn’t much that could be done. When each of her five children were born, she was ready to watch for signs of the same problems she had experienced in school. To no surprise, 4 of her 5 children displayed similar vision struggles. Fortunately, in the early 2000’s, Alison stumbled upon Coleman Vision Center. After experiencing the program’s immense success and witnessing the drastic change in her children, she began to consider the idea of becoming a vision therapist. When her home educated children had left the nest, she decided to finally pursue the idea to fruition. Joining the staff in November 2016, Alison was ready to combine her love for education, children, and the desire to give hope to many who believe that their future is dim.
