Many hard-to-fit vision prescriptions are treated best with hard, rigid gas permeable contact lenses. When soft contacts don’t give crisp vision or comfortable wearing, hard lenses are often a great alternative. They boast high oxygen permeability that makes them breathable – thereby lowering the risk of ocular infections.
It can take a short adaptation period until hard lenses feel comfortable, and they must be sterilized every night. When taken care of properly, the life span of durable hard lenses is usually longer, lasting up to a few years.
